CONSTITUTION.
I. By this document an Organisation called the “ELIKYA Organisation” is founded in Limerick, Republic Of Ireland, on the 3 rd of March 2002.
- The address of Elykia Organisation is 58 Rhebogue Meadows, Dublin Road, Limerick.
- Mission Statement:
- To be involved in the construction of a true multicultural and multiracial society in Ireland through music as a way to express people’s unity.
- To utilise musical diversity as a powerful tool for integration and communication between different people living in Ireland.
- To sustain and promote music as a powerful mean towards ending social exclusion in the Republic of Ireland.
- To participate in promoting music as an effective instrument for education, unity, peace among people and for a world full of happiness and unconditional love.
- To contribute to the popularisation of and promotion of different forms of music in Ireland through its melodies, instruments, sounds, dance… etc.
- To participate in the ongoing anti-racism campaign through partnership with churches, Schools, Colleges, Universities, humanitarian organisations,… etc.
- To raise funds to help charitable organisations in poor countries world wide through public concerts, Masses, workshops, sales of CD, audio and video tapes and DVD.
- To help and encourage Asylum seekers and refugees to deal with legal Organisations, language institutions, and provide advices in their native language.
- To help, support and empower orphans, street children and all those unsupported young people in the Democratic Republic of Congo through the set up of technical and professional training centres in partnership with the Irish aid agencies.
- To Promote, encourage and support the works of Congolese artists and musical groups in Ireland.
11. To set up a recording studio to help different foreign artists in Ireland to release their musical works.
- “Elikya organisation”
is a non-profit making, non-political organisation.
- Any organisation, institution or person can become a member of “Elikya Organisation”. Application for membership should be addressed to the Secretary. Each member pays an annual or monthly subscription to cover running costs.
- The subscription will be fixed by the Annual General meeting of the organisation.
- The administrative year of the organisation is the calendar year.
The Executive committee will be composed of a President, a Secretary, a treasurer a Public Relation and Marketing person, and musical leader. This team will be elected by the current active members.
- The activities of “Elikya
Organisation” shall principally be financed by membership subscription, sales of CD, Video tapes, DVD, Concerts, workshops, by gifts or grants which would be compatible with independence of the organisation.
Any surplus, after the performing fees and running costs shall be reinvested within the Organisation.
X. The constitution may be amended by a majority of two-thirds of members present and voting at an annual General Meeting.
Or an Extraordinary General Meeting convoked with at least fourteen days notice, called by the Executive Committee. If a majority of the Executive Committee so decides or at the request of not less than one quarter of the organisation.
XI. Care shall be taken that the activities of the organisation and especially those of members of the Executive Committee, shall at all times be consonant with the mission statement duties of the members of the Executive Committee.
